INVITE: Someone You Love - The HPV Epidemic - FREE Event @ Valencia CC West 03.31.16


Please join the Cancer Support Community – Orlando Health for the screening of an award winning documentary to raise awareness about HPV and cervical cancer. 

Narrated by Vanessa Williams, this film provides views an in-depth look into the lives of 5 women who have been affected by cervical cancer. 

A panel discussion will follow the screening to answer audience questions.

Cancer Connections on Feb. 24th!


Mark your calendars to join us at HealthStreet on Wednesday, February 24th, at NOON, for a presentation by Dr. Charles Perkins, radiation oncologist at NFRMC.

Dr. Perkins will speak about the genetics of breast cancer.

PLEASE NOTE!!!  Your RSVP is needed by Monday February 22nd to include you in the lunch count ($4 donation requested).  A healthful side dish to be shared is welcome in lieu of the donation!  If you are unable to RSVP by Monday, we ask that you bring you own lunch so that there will be plenty for those who RSVPd.

The shuttle picks up at the WEST end of Davis Cancer Center, in front of radiation oncology, and at the V.A., and at the UF Health cancer hospital.  The shuttle vehicle is a white van labeled HealthStreet.

 

Be sure to ask Erick for clarification on the time and exact location of where you will be picked up.  The shuttle also picks up at the ACS building and at the UF cancer hospital, upon request.

I am very pleased to say that the success of the Pink Pumpkin Pedal-Off fundraising cycling event held last October allowed the non-profit Power of 2

to present Dr. Jon Licht and the U.F. cancer center with a check for

$20,000 in December.  These funds will go to the researchers, to help find more effective treatments for triple negative breast cancer.  This year's event will be on October 1st, and we are always looking for committed volunteers and sponsors.
