Zen Pumpkin Soup Cooking Demo

Through outreach of our EBT program, we also provide nutrition education and cooking demonstrations, highlighting local, seasonal produce and teaching healthy cooking methods to farmers market shoppers. Alternating between the Union Street and Alachua County Farmers Market, we offer a nutrition education table which accompanies our EBT booth in which we pass out samples of easy to prepare dishes made from local, seasonal produce. We also distribute recipes and nutritional facts for whatever we’re highlighting. The nutrition education table will also be accompanying the cooking demo next Wednesday and is run by UF Dietetics students in which we will be offering samples of pumpkin butter made from local Seminole pumpkin.
