This Friday! First Annual UF College of Pharmacy Spring Community Wellness Fair at HealthStreet


UF HealthStreet is partnering with various student organizations in the UF College of Pharmacy to host the first annual Spring Community Wellness Fair at HealthStreet , April 1st, from 4-6 p.m. Everyone is welcomed to the free health screenings, health education and family activities! Thanks to all the continuing support of Floridians in purchasing the END BREAST CANCER specialty license plate as well as in the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation's network of breast cancer supporters, survivors, and activists fighting to end breast cancer. We have invested over $4.0 million of dedicated funding for education and research programs in the state of Florida.

 

The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF), along with those who generously support us with their talent, time, and resources, is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in Florida. Grants are awarded in support of innovative education and research programs throughout Florida.

 

The FBCF is currently offering education grants for Florida organizations: $5,000.00 for projects in a single county and up to $10,000.00 for projects provided in multiple counties that focus on education in one on one or small group settings to reach as many people as possible. Grants are available for projects that take place over a 12-month period.

 

 

Application Deadline is May 9, 2016.

Applications must be postmarked by this date to be accepted.

Funding is not available for: screening, treatment programs, one-time events, conferences, symposiums, seminars, and participation as an exhibitor, presentation, or attendance at health fairs, conferences, symposiums, and seminars.

Florida Rural Health Association Annual Conference-April 28th & 29th in St. Pete Florida! Register Now!


It is time for the Florida Rural Health Association Annual Educational Summit on April 28th and 29th in St. Petersburg Florida. As you all know, funding for rural Florida is threatened and a constant battle. We have a full agenda with tracks focused on funding, population health, and national programs. Specific topics includes Medicaid wrap around payments, integration of primacy care and mental health, oral health, and funding from the Federal Communication Commission. National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable Webinar March 8, 2pm ET

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness month and the 80% by 2018 Initiative has planned a webinar that you won't want to miss!

On Tuesday, March 8th at 2:00pm, please join the American Cancer Society and the National CRC Roundtable for a live broadcast featuring Dr. Richard Wender, Chair of the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable and Chief Cancer Control Officer of the American Cancer Society, Dr. Lisa C. Richardson, Director of the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and many other leaders, to mark the 3rd year of the 80% by 2018 effort. We'll look back on our shared successes, meet the winners of the 80% by 2018 National Achievement Awards and look ahead at what we need to do in the next two years and nine months to get to the finish line.
