Hematological malignancies is a type of cancer that affects blood, bone marrow, and lymph nodes. Disease affecting one of the three will often affect the others as well as they are intimately connected through the immune system. Treatment with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and - in some cases - a bone marrow transplant can reduce cancerian cells and rescue the patient.
