Additional Information: Last spring, UF Health Shands Arts
in Medicine received a grant from the LIVESTRONG Foundation. This program was
awarded funding to participate in The Creative Center at University Settlement
Outpatient Arts Program.
The Arts in Medicine program will use the funding to launch
Creative For Health Studio, free weekly arts and writing workshops for people
affected by cancer, including patients, survivors, and caregivers.
The workshops will be led by artist in residence, Dylan
Klempner, who will collaborate each week with artists and writers from across
the Gainesville community and beyond. Over the course of the program,
participants will paint, sculpt, write, dance, and sing in a fun and supportive
environment.
