Overview

Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Florida now have the opportunity to become certified through the Florida Certification Board, which validates their competencies and ethical practices. Certification can help CHWs with employment and reimbursement for preventive services. Certification also demonstrates that CHWs meet standards of practice, maintain their knowledge, and apply a code of ethics to their work.

Learning objectives

 Understand the process of applying for certification through the Florida Certification Board
Understand the requirements to document experience and training for the application
Discuss the role of the Florida CHW Coalition in creating certification process with the Florida Certification Board

Intended Audience: Health Care Navigators and Professionals, Community Health Workers, Administrators and Interested Stakeholders
