Creating and Enforcing Tobacco-Free Environments at Colleges and Universities Tuesday, September 23, 2014 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. ET Click to Register Early adulthood is a key stage in determining a person's lifelong use of tobacco products. One effective way to prevent the behavior is to establish tobacco-free policies where these adults spend much of their time - at colleges and universities. Such policies also create a healthy environment for the campus workforce and visitors. Join this webinar hosted by the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) to learn about the implementation and enforcement of tobacco-free policies by different types of institutions, the legal implications, and how you can be involved in the effort. Presentations will be delivered by the Public Health Law Center/Tobacco Control Legal Consortium, Oklahoma State University, North Arkansas College, and The Tobacco-Free College Campus Initiative. The intended audience for this webinar include public health officials, college administrators and staff, state and local health departments, and institutions of higher education. Visit ASTHO's Tobacco website to read more about tobacco regulations, view state case studies, and access more tobacco resources. NACCHO offers a range of resources for local health departments on tobacco prevention and control. Visit NACCHO's tobacco prevention and control webpage for publications, tools, and more on how local health departments can further tobacco prevention and control initiatives in their jurisdictions. |
